Ideas for the advert

Ideas Regeneration (Style)
We fleshed out the initial idea for the ad in a mind map style working out how it would most attract our target audience of teenagers. We had to work out a USP which would put PG tips above all other tea brands but after much debating we decided the best way to attract teens is through creating an one off comedy ad, this we hope create a positive buzz around it and attract people to watch the ad over and over ultimately selling and promoting PG tips.

Identification of Over and Hidden Messages
By producing this advert with the comical appeal and drum and bass ending aimed at teenager i think it would be a success. Like the Vimto lowrider ad (which was aimed at teens) also including a drum and bass song was their most successful ad of all time gaining them over 200k of facebook fans. Similarly our ad is operating on the same basis as the Vimto ad, by creating a buzz and let people spread the word of PG tips as they like the comical style of our proposed advert. It works on two levels by contrasting the stereotypical 'yob' look with the classic cup of tea as the pair are unlikely to be associated with eachother. Also the contrast of the gran and the drum and bass (which are also both unsimilar) showing how cool the nan is therefore showing that tea isnt all that boring! The ad is Fair overt hidden showing through contrast that PG tips tea is cool to drink.

Audience Relevance
Are ad is aimed at everyone but focusing on capturing the minds of teenagers. We decided to make a one of a kind advert with comedy which naturally appeals to everyone  yet using teens to produce the comedy showing how cool it is. A drum and bass song is added at the end which hopefully will get them talking about the ad with other peers whom will watch the advert to hear the song hopefully drawing more of our nicher audience in.

  2. What does this mean: "The ad is Fair overt hidden showing through contrast"? There are quite a few errors here which make it hard to understand your meaning. You mean to say 'Overt' rather than 'over', and 'generation' rather than 'regeneration'. You need to review your writing carefully to check the meaning you intended is clear.

Overall you development of your idea is good and at merit level. I think you needed too much assistance for distinction though...
